Course Description
Hello all,
My name is Ms. Mays, and I am happy to be teaching 5th grade English/Language Arts the 2020-2021 school year!
Students will be learning to analyze literary and informational texts, language, and writing. Students will analyze literary and informational texts (RI. & RL. 5.1-5.10) which are associated with finding theme, central idea, textual evidence, key details, and much more. With language (L.5.1-L5.6), students will learn figurative language, multiple-meaning words, affixes, sentence structure, and much more. Students will also learn how to write (W.5.1-W.5.3) informational, argumentative, and narrative essays this school year.
