Creative Writing (Period 6th, 7th )

Over the course of this class, we will primarily focus on the following domains encompassed in the Mississippi Common Core State Standards: 

L- Language

RI- Reading Information

RL- Reading Literature

W- Writing (Argumentative, Informative, and Narrative)

 

These standards will be taught and assessed using grade-level appropriate high rigor texts using resources like McGraw Hill's StudySync, MyPerspectives, Ready, etc. 

 

Creative Writing is clearly more writing based than the English section. Pacing for writing is as follows: 

1st Nine Weeks- Argumentative Writing (W.7.1)

2nd Nine Weeks- Informative Writing (W.7.2)

3rd Nine Weeks- Narrative Writing (W.7.3)

4th Nine Weeks- Comprehensive Writing Review (W.7.1,2,3)
