Topic 5 Vocabulary:
- Ratio - relationship in which for every x units of one quantity there are y units of another quantity.
- Term - The quantities x and y in a ratio
- Equivalent Ratios - Ratios that express the same relationship
- Rate - A special type of ratio that compares quantities with unlike units of measure.
- Unit Rates - a rate in which the comparison is to 1 unit
- Unit Price - a unit rate that gives the price of one time
- Constant Speed - the speed stays the same over time
- Conversion Factor - a rate that compares equivalent measures
- Dimensional Analysis - used to convert measures by including measurement units when you multiply by a conversion factor
- Double Line Diagram - used to compare two quantities
- Quantities - a way to compare a ratio in a mathematical way
- Ratio Table - this helps organize the terms of a ratio
